Elementary School
In Las Palmas Christian School, we are committed to academic excellence before God and our community by offering an excellent educational program that meets the spiritual, cognitive, and emotional needs of our students.
The elementary program is designed to:
Develop the learning and study skills necessary for all subject areas, including daily instruction in the Bible.
English classes are taught in English by a North American teacher and emphasize phonics with correct pronunciation and reading comprehension – encouraging to not only read for information, but for pleasure. The teachers use a variety of curricula to develop one that will fit the student who is learning English as a foreign language.
Math and Science classes are taught in English by a North American teacher.
Social Studies and Spanish are both taught in Spanish by a Dominican teacher.
Bible is taught everyday.
Acreditation
In April 2018, Las Palmas Christian School recieved recognition and accreditation from ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). At the time, we were the 6th school to receive this accreditation from ACSI in the Dominican Republic. However, our unique model of teaching in two languages without translation, and the fact that we are located outside of a major metropolitan city gave us distinction among schools all over Latin America.
